A night out in Barcelona costs about €30 to €90 per person in 2026. A beer in a bar is €2.50 to €5, club entry is €15 to €25, a mixed drink inside a club is €12 to €20, and getting home is €2.90 by metro or roughly €10 for a short night taxi.
Prices checked October 2026. We update this page when they change.
The short version
- Bars are cheap. Clubs are not. Most of a night’s budget goes on the door and on drinks inside.
- Club entry at the door is €15 to €25. That single charge is often a third of the night or more.
- A drink inside a club costs about double what it costs in a bar two streets away.
- The metro runs all night on Saturdays only. Every other night you need a night bus or a taxi.
- The cheapest full night we can build is about €27. The same night with door entry and taxis is closer to €90.

How much are drinks in Barcelona bars?
A beer in a Barcelona bar costs €2.50 to €5, and a cocktail costs €8 to €12. Where you sit matters more than what you order. The same small draught beer can cost twice as much on a terrace facing La Rambla as it does at the bar of a place three streets back.
Three habits keep bar spending low:
- Order a caña. It’s a small draught beer, about 200 ml, and it’s the cheapest thing on any menu. A mediana is a 330 ml bottle and costs more. Our full beer price breakdown has bar, club and supermarket prices.
- Stand at the bar. Some bars charge extra for terrace tables. If there are two price columns on the menu, that’s why.
- Walk two streets. Prices fall quickly once you leave La Rambla, Plaça Reial and the seafront for the side streets of the Gothic Quarter, Raval or Gràcia.
One thing that looks like a saving and isn’t: drinking in the street. It’s banned in Barcelona, and the fine is €100 to €600 under the city ordinance that came into force in February 2026. A can from a street seller can become the most expensive drink of your trip.
How much is club entry in Barcelona?
Club entry in Barcelona costs €15 to €25 at the door. The beach clubs on Passeig Marítim de la Barceloneta, which are Opium, Shoko and Ku Barcelona (the club most people still call Pacha), usually charge €15 to €20 and include one drink. Razzmatazz and Sala Apolo price each night separately and sell tickets online, so check the event before you go.
The door charge is the part of the night you can do most about. There are three ways to pay less:
- Guest lists. Some clubs let you in free or cheaper if your name is on a list and you arrive before a cut-off time. It works, but the list can close, and a refused entry at 01:30 leaves you paying full price somewhere else.
- Advance tickets. Razzmatazz and Sala Apolo sell tickets per event on their own sites, so you know the price before you leave the hostel.
- A pub crawl ticket. Entry to a club is part of the ticket, so you skip the door charge. Tickets in Barcelona run from €9.99 to €20 depending on the operator. We’ve compared them all in is a pub crawl worth it?
Clubs are 18+ at a minimum and check physical ID. A photo of your passport on your phone is not ID at the door.
How much are drinks inside a Barcelona club?
Inside a club, a beer costs €6 to €10, a mixed drink costs €12 to €20 and a shot costs €5 to €8. That’s about double bar prices, and it’s the reason locals drink in bars until well after midnight and only then go to the club.
The timing works in your favour. Clubs open around midnight but stay quiet until about 01:30, so nobody is losing out by spending the first half of the night somewhere cheaper. Two drinks inside the club is a normal number. Five is how a €40 night becomes a €120 one.
How much does it cost to get home?
Getting home costs €2.90 by metro and about €9 to €12 by taxi for a short ride. Which one you can use depends on the night of the week, because the metro doesn’t run all night except on Saturdays.
| Night | Last metro | After that |
|---|---|---|
| Sunday to Thursday | Midnight | NitBus or taxi |
| Friday and nights before public holidays | 02:00 | NitBus or taxi until the metro reopens at 05:00 |
| Saturday | Runs all night | Nothing needed |
NitBus night buses run from roughly 22:00 to 06:00, and almost every line passes through Plaça de Catalunya, so from there you can reach most hostel districts. Taxis charge a €2.80 start fee plus €1.66 per km on the night tariff, which applies from 20:00 to 08:00 on weekdays and all day on Saturdays and public holidays. A 4 km ride from the beach clubs to the centre works out at about €9.50 on the meter before any waiting time. Split between four people, a taxi often costs less than you’d think. Here’s how to get home from each club area, with the nearest metro and night bus stops.
Three sample budgets for one night
These are worked examples, added up from the price list above. Change the number of drinks and the totals move quickly.
| Shoestring | Standard | Big night |
|---|---|---|
| 2 bar beers at €3: €6 | 3 bar beers at €3.50: €10.50 | 2 bar cocktails at €10: €20 |
| Pub crawl ticket with club entry: €9.99 | Club entry with one drink: €20 | Club entry at the door: €25 |
| 1 beer in the club: €8 | 1 more mixed drink: €15 | 2 mixed drinks at €16: €32 |
| Metro home: €2.90 | Metro home: €2.90 | Taxi home: €12 |
| Total: €26.89 | Total: €48.40 | Total: €89 |
The gap between the first two columns is almost entirely the door. Same city, same kind of club, same ride home.
How the shoestring column works. Our ticket is €9.99, the cheapest pub crawl in Barcelona, and it covers two bars and entry to a club. Drinks aren’t included and the club changes from night to night. Two nights cost €16.
Book for €9.99Five ways to spend less on a night out in Barcelona
- Start late and start in bars. Dinner at 21:00, bars from 22:00, club after 01:00. Every hour you spend in a bar is an hour you aren’t paying club prices.
- Sort out entry before you’re at the door. An advance ticket, a guest list or a Barcelona pub crawl all cost less than turning up and paying €25.
- Decide your club drinks in advance. Two is a plan. “We’ll see” is how the bill happens.
- Check the day of the week before choosing how to get home. On Saturday the metro is €2.90 all night. On a Tuesday, know your NitBus line or agree to split a taxi.
- Carry one card and a little cash. Pickpockets work the nightlife streets. Losing a phone costs more than the whole night.
If you want the door charge handled and company for the night, we meet every night at 22:30 at Red Garter Karaoke Bar, Passeig de Colom 23, two minutes from Drassanes metro. Groups are small to medium, so it’s easy to join on your own. The meeting point page has the map and what to look for.
